Types of Permits and Visas
Occupation Permit

To qualify, applicants must earn at least USD 1,500 monthly, show proof of accommodation, and have health insurance for their stay. Note that working in Mauritius is not allowed under this visa, and income must come from outside the country.

Mauritius Residence Permit Requirements for Retirees
Retirees can obtain a Mauritius residence permit by demonstrating a monthly income of USD 1,500 or having USD 18,000 in a bank account. To qualify for a permanent residence permit, retirees must transfer at least USD 54,000 during the three years preceding the application.
Residency Requirements for Professionals
Professionals can qualify for the residency requirements by working for a Mauritian company with a minimum salary of MUR 30,000. To obtain a permanent residence permit, professionals must have received a monthly salary of at least MUR 150,000 for three years before applying.
Residency Requirements for Investors
Investors can meet the residency requirements by making an initial investment of USD 50,000. To qualify for the permanent residence permit, they must generate a gross annual income of at least MUR 15 million for the three years preceding the application.
Residency Requirements for Self-Employed Foreigners
Self-employed foreigners must operate as a one-person company and make an initial investment of USD 35,000 to meet the residency requirements. For the permanent residence permit, they must generate an annual business income of at least MUR 3 million for three consecutive years before applying.
