Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has appointed Gregory Viaud as general manager, placing an experienced international hotelier at the helm following one of the resort’s most extensive transformations.
The appointment matters beyond a change in leadership. Viaud takes charge as the east-coast resort begins consolidating its position after a seven-month renovation that redesigned its pool villas and residence rentals, introduced new dining concepts and expanded its wellness offering.
Viaud joins the Mauritian property from Four Seasons Hotel Rabat Kasr Al Bahr, where he served as opening general manager. A graduate of Vatel Nîmes Hotel and Tourism Business School, Viaud began his Four Seasons career at the group’s Park Lane hotel in London in 2004. His subsequent assignments took him to Bora Bora, Bali, Maui, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Orlando and Rabat. Eight years spent at island resorts provide particularly relevant experience for his new position in Mauritius.
His immediate task will be to guide the repositioned resort after its renovation. The programme included redesigned villas and residence rentals, renewed dining venues and further development of OSEYAN Spa, which Four Seasons describes as Mauritius’ only overwater spa.
In a press release announcing his appointment, Gregory Viaud said he wanted to create experiences that reflect Mauritius’s culture and natural beauty, while strengthening the resort’s connection with the local community. He added: “I have always believed that the most memorable hotels and resorts are those that truly belong to their destination.”
His appointment signals a new operational phase for the resort, with leadership now focused on translating its substantial physical transformation into a distinctive Mauritian guest experience.
