BCP Bank Moves to Moka

Editorial February 11, 2026

BCP Bank (Mauritius) Ltd has relocated its headquarters from Ebène to Telfair, in the heart of Moka Smart City. The move, officially completed on 6 February 2026, involved 170 staff members and marks a deliberate strategic shift for the Mauritian subsidiary of Morocco’s Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP), one of Africa’s largest banking groups with operations across 32 countries.

Ebène remains a major business hub in Mauritius. The bank is clear that its departure does not diminish that status. The decision to move was not driven by cost. Office rates in Moka were not the deciding factor. Instead, BCP Bank describes a long-term vision: integrating into a more modern, accessible, and sustainable urban environment that better reflects how the bank wants to work and how its clients expect to be served.

The bank is now a tenant at The Workplace, a building within Telfair that meets international standards for sustainability and functionality. Moka Smart City holds the distinction of being Mauritius’s first business district certified LEED-ND, a globally recognised standard for neighbourhood-level environmental design.

A Signal, Not Just a Move

For a bank that operates across corporate and institutional banking, private wealth, and retail segments, the choice of location sends a message. BCP Bank wants to be associated with innovation, collaboration, and environmental responsibility. The new offices were designed around those principles. Sangeetha Ramkelawon, CEO of BCP Bank (Mauritius), framed the move as a reflection of the bank’s ambition to be “a forward-looking institution, firmly rooted in its territory.”

Business Continues as Usual

All their teams have been fully transferred to Telfair. The Ebène office is closed. However, clients who prefer Port-Louis still have access to the bank’s Business Centre there, which continues to operate normally. The relocation adds BCP Bank to a growing list of financial and professional services firms choosing Moka Smart City as their base, reinforcing Telfair’s position as a credible alternative to Ebène for corporate tenants seeking modern, sustainable workspaces.
