APTIS Group announced on May 22, 2025, its acquisition of BARNES Mauritius, one of the country's top three luxury real estate agencies. The deal represents a significant expansion of the diversified conglomerate's property business into the high-end real estate market. BARNES Mauritius, which operates six offices with 35 employees, generated approximately Rs 78 million (around €1.5 million) in revenue in 2024.
The acquisition extends APTIS's Property cluster, one of its three main business divisions, by adding an established luxury real estate brand. While APTIS originally focused on distribution and commerce, the group has expanded into property development in recent years. The addition of BARNES Mauritius strengthens this division and positions APTIS as a major player in Mauritius's upscale real estate market, capitalizing on growing demand for luxury properties in the region.
BARNES Mauritius founder Outi de Falbaire will remain with the company as Head of Sales, while APTIS has appointed François Colin as General Manager to spearhead the agency's future development.
Speaking about the acquisition to maurice-info.mu, Outi de Falbaire welcomed the partnership as a growth catalyst: "BARNES Mauritius can now leverage APTIS Group's support and expertise to continue its growth and achieve our ambition of becoming the leader in luxury real estate sales and rentals in Mauritius." Colin, the newly appointed General Manager, emphasized his commitment to "push standards in terms of customer experience, performance and corporate culture — in Mauritius, and beyond."
